FTXL targets U.S. semiconductor stocks, but it doesn’t just buy the biggest names—it first selects the 30 most actively traded (most liquid) names, then weights them using a multi-factor score.
That score blends value (cash flow relative to price), lower volatility (how much the stock has swung over the last year), and recent price momentum (average returns across 3/6/9/12 months).
The index caps concentration: up to five holdings can reach 8%, and most others are capped at 4%, with quarterly rebalancing and annual reconstitution.
You own a basket of U.S. semiconductor-related companies (chip makers and related businesses) chosen because they trade a lot and are easy to buy/sell. The fund then gives bigger slices to stocks that look cheaper on cash flow, have steadier price behavior, and have been trending up recently.
