Loading OBIL detail
OBIL is a passive ETF built to track the Bloomberg US Treasury Bellwether 1Y Total Return Index by concentrating in the current “on-the-run” 12-month U.S. Treasury bill (the most recently issued and typically most liquid). It refreshes that exposure through a monthly roll—selling the prior bill and buying the newest eligible 1-year bill—so the fund stays anchored to the 12-month point on the yield curve.
You’re basically owning one U.S. government IOU that’s designed to mature in about a year. Each month, the fund swaps into the newest 12-month Treasury bill so it keeps targeting that same 1-year slice of rates.
