IYJ is a passive U.S. equity sector ETF designed to track large- and mid-cap industrial companies from the Russell 1000 Industrials index lineup.
It uses market-cap weighting but applies issuer caps at quarterly rebalances (15% max per company, plus an additional cap on oversized holdings) to limit single-stock dominance.
The fund typically uses representative sampling (holding a subset that behaves like the index) rather than fully replicating every name.
This fund is a basket of U.S. industrial companies—think airlines, machinery makers, transport/logistics, and aerospace/defense businesses. You buy one ticker and instantly own a spread of big and mid-sized industrial stocks, not just one company.
