GSY is an actively managed ultra-short duration bond ETF designed to target returns above Treasury bills by holding a diversified mix of investment-grade, short-term fixed income.
It keeps average portfolio duration under one year to limit sensitivity to rate moves, while using sectors beyond pure T-bills (corporates, securitized credit, commercial paper, repos, and other bond funds).
It aims for income plus liquidity and capital preservation, but it is explicitly not a money market fund and its NAV can move.
You own a basket of very short-term IOUs from high-quality borrowers—like the U.S. government, big companies, and banks—plus some bond-like packages such as mortgage- and asset-backed securities. Because the IOUs are short, the price usually moves less than longer-term bond funds, but it can still go up and down.
