VEU is a passive ETF built to mirror the FTSE All-World ex US Index—basically, international stocks while skipping the United States. It uses float-adjusted, market-cap weighting (bigger, more tradeable companies get more weight) and aims to hold the index’s stocks in roughly the same proportions, with scheduled index reviews twice a year.
You own a giant basket of thousands of non-U.S. public companies across developed and emerging markets. The bigger the company (and the more shares that actually trade), the bigger its slice of the fund.
