SPHQ is a passive large-cap U.S. equity ETF that targets “higher quality” companies inside the S&P 500, rather than owning the full index. It selects 100 stocks based on three signals—profitability (return on equity), earnings quality (low accruals), and balance-sheet risk (lower financial leverage)—then weights holdings by a mix of quality score and market cap with sector constraints.
You own a basket of 100 big U.S. companies picked for strong fundamentals, not just for being large. The fund tilts more weight to the companies that score better on profitability, cleaner earnings, and lower debt levels.
