SGDJ is a passive equity ETF built to track the Solactive Junior Gold Miners Custom Factors Index, targeting small-cap “junior” gold explorers and developers across markets like Canada, the U.S., Australia, and Indonesia.
It starts from market-cap weights, then tilts holdings up or down using two signals: 12‑month revenue growth for developers and 12‑month stock price momentum for explorers.
The index is reconstituted and rebalanced semi-annually, with position caps (around 9% at rebalance) plus diversification screens.
You own shares of smaller gold mining companies—some are still searching for gold (explorers) and some are trying to build mines (developers). The fund gives bigger slices to the juniors that are growing revenues (developers) or whose stock price has been trending up (explorers).
