PSCU is a passive sector ETF designed to track an S&P index made up of small-cap U.S. companies in utilities and communication services pulled from the S&P SmallCap 600 universe.
It uses a market-cap approach (bigger companies get bigger weights) and aims to keep at least 90% of assets in index holdings.
The result is a niche utilities/telecom small-cap basket that can behave very differently from the large-cap-heavy utilities ETFs most investors recognize.
You’re buying a small bundle of smaller U.S. utilities (including water and natural gas distributors) plus some communication services/telecom-related companies. Instead of owning the big, household-name utilities, you mostly own smaller firms that can move more sharply up or down.
