PBTP is a passive bond ETF built to track a market-value-weighted index of U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) with less than five years left to maturity.
It aims to hold (at least 80%) the bonds in its underlying ICE 0–5 year TIPS index and refreshes the lineup monthly.
The core idea is short-term, U.S. government-backed inflation-linked exposure in one simple wrapper.
You own a basket of short-dated U.S. government TIPS bonds. These bonds adjust their principal (and interest paid) with inflation as measured by CPI, so the payments move as prices rise.
