JPMorgan uses a mix of top-down views, bottom-up security selection, and a proprietary multi-factor model to try to beat the MSCI Emerging Markets Index over time while keeping overall risk (like sector and country bets) in a similar range.
You own a basket of stocks (and stock-like instruments) tied to emerging-market countries. The manager actively tilts the mix—overweighting some countries or sectors and underweighting others—rather than simply copying an index.
