JAPN is an actively managed Japan equity ETF focused on “owner-operator” businesses—companies where insiders/major shareholders hold meaningful stakes (generally over 5%). The manager uses a value-driven, fundamentals-first process and builds a relatively concentrated book (typically ~30–50 names), with the flexibility to lean into certain sectors and include up to 20% outside Japan in other Asian markets.
You own a hand-picked basket of Japanese stocks where the people running the company also own a big piece of it. The idea is that when management has real skin in the game, they may run the business with a longer-term, cash-focused mindset.
