Loading EMLC detail
EMLC is a passive bond ETF built to track a J. P. Morgan index of emerging-market government bonds issued in the issuers’ own local currencies.
It uses a sampling approach (holding a representative slice, not every bond) to closely mirror the index’s risk/return profile.
The index uses tiered country weights with minimum country allocations and includes China exposure after a 2020 methodology update.
You own IOUs from emerging-market governments, like Brazil or Indonesia, but those IOUs are priced in their local money, not U.S. dollars. Your returns come from bond income plus (or minus) currency moves.
