AVSF is an actively managed, short-term investment-grade bond ETF that buys a diversified mix of U.S. and non-U.S. debt across sectors (corporate, government, agency, and supranational). The managers use a quantitative framework to compare bond groups by factors like credit rating, maturity/duration, country, and currency, then tilt toward areas they believe offer better expected return based on the yield curve and option-adjusted spreads (the extra yield after adjusting for embedded bond options).
You own a basket of high-quality, short-term bonds from governments and companies around the world. The manager actively swaps between different types of bonds to try to earn a little more yield without taking on long-term interest-rate risk.
