FXN is an energy-sector equity ETF that uses a rules-based, multi-factor stock selection process to try to beat traditional cap-weighted energy indexes. Instead of mirroring “big oil,” it builds a modified equal-dollar, tiered-weight portfolio drawn from Russell 1000 energy names and refreshes that lineup quarterly.
You own a basket of U.S. energy company stocks chosen by a quantitative scoring model, not by a human manager. The fund spreads weight more evenly across its picks, so mid-sized energy companies can matter more than mega-caps.
