VFH is a passive sector ETF built to track the MSCI US IMI 25/50 Financials Index, giving broad exposure to the U.S. financials sector across large-, mid-, and small-cap stocks.
It uses market-cap weighting and aims to closely replicate the index holdings and weights.
The underlying index applies concentration limits (the “25/50” rule) and is rebalanced quarterly.
You’re buying a big basket of U.S. financial companies—banks, insurers, brokers, asset managers, and exchanges—in one fund. The biggest companies get the biggest slices, because the portfolio is weighted by market value.
