Loading SPIB detail
SPIB is a passive bond ETF built to track the intermediate-term slice (1–10 years) of the US investment-grade corporate bond market, as represented by a Bloomberg intermediate corporate bond index.
It uses a sampling approach, meaning it may hold a representative subset of the index bonds (plus limited cash-like instruments) to closely match index risk/return.
The index is market-value weighted and rebalanced monthly, so the biggest corporate issuers tend to have the biggest impact.
You’re buying a big basket of higher-quality (investment-grade) corporate bonds that mostly mature in the next 1 to 10 years. The fund owns many different company IOUs (mostly US companies, plus some USD bonds from foreign companies) and pays out the interest as ordinary income.
