JPST is an actively managed ultra-short bond ETF built to generate income while aiming to protect principal. It invests mostly in investment-grade, U.S. dollar-denominated debt across corporates, securitized credit (asset-backed and mortgage-related), and government/agency paper, while targeting an effective duration of about one year or less.
You own a basket of short-term IOUs from big, generally higher-quality borrowers—companies, banks, and governments. The fund keeps these loans short so the price usually moves less when interest rates change.
