FLIN is a passive equity ETF built to track the FTSE India RIC Capped Index, targeting large- and mid-cap Indian stocks.
It uses free-float market-cap weighting (bigger companies get bigger weights) but applies issuer caps to reduce single-stock concentration, with caps checked quarterly and index membership reviewed semi-annually.
The fund may fully replicate the index or use a sampling approach if full replication isn’t practical.
You’re buying a big basket of publicly traded Indian companies, mostly the larger and mid-sized ones. The biggest companies can’t dominate the basket because the index puts limits on how large any one company (or group of very large companies) can be.
